Exceeding expectations with the Bill’s apprenticeship programme

Exceeding expectations with the Bill’s apprenticeship programme

Working with employers to create bespoke programmes is one of the key values of Performance Learning Group. Each of our programmes is unique and we pride ourselves on the customer service offered to each and every one of our stakeholders.

The relationships we develop allows us to utilise internal skills and knowledge to fully embed our programmes as well as have some great conversations about the future, planning the implementation of new standards and designing an offer to support with the transition into the world of the Levy.

Our newest employer Bill’s Restaurants had this to say:

“I can only say positive things about working with PLG.

Their expertise in qualifications available for our teams is excellent and enhancing to careers in Bill’s.

The Biggest plus for me is the time Andrea and Andy personally give to me and the L&D team it’s as if they are on the Bill’s payroll.

They always exceed our expectations when mapping our internal training to qualifications.

They are a super team of professionals who always strive to give us the best support possible.

I am proud of our working partnership.”

Young’s Partnership with Performance Learning Group

At Performance Learning Group we are very proud of our relationships with employers and do everything we can to integrate our services into their current business processes.  After working closely with Young’s for a little under 2 years, here is what Tracy Read, People Director, had to say:

On joining Young’s early 2015, one of my first challenges was to introduce apprenticeships for our chefs that was built around the way we do business.  PLG ensured they worked with our food development team to create a programme that set all our chef apprentices up for success.  At no time did we feel we were being made to fit a certain way of working, we had input into the programme and it fitted our needs perfectly.  The support PLG give us is second to none and we sometimes forget they are an external company providing a service.  Our Chef academies are going from strength to strength and it is our intention to increase our apprenticeship offer to our teams, we wouldn’t be able to do this without the help, support and brilliant communication we get from the team at PLG.  I would never hesitate in recommending them as a training provider.

Young’s in partnership with Performance Learning Group (PLG) are investing in the future of fresh food by launching the “Young’s Chef Academy”. Chris Knights, group executive chef at Young’s Pubs and Geronimo Inns, feels strongly that developing and recognising chefs throughout the company will help address the skills shortage and employee retention.  By delivering apprenticeships in both Professional Cookery Level 2 and Hospitality Supervision & Leadership Level 3 to chefs across a number of London based Young’s and Geronimo sites, alongside delivering a monthly master class will allow the lucky and dedicated chefs to gain the full range of knowledge and practical experience, to put the skill back into traditional cooking.

Chris is even grabbing the headlines with his Q&A featured in Big Hospitality:
